Team SPLY CSGO brings home a second place finish in TTÜ
From February 9th through Febuary11th, Team SPLY’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team attended the TTÜ e-Sport 2018 Talv LAN tournament, bringing home a strong second place victory in a close match against OnlineBOTS. Players Emis2, UGARR, kykaho, outwerk, and hek showed off their talents defeating 3 teams before making it to the playoffs. They beat tmhg 16-2, Team addicTs 16-11, and Team RedEye 16-6 in their grouping. In Team SPLY’s first playoff match, they competed against Tiim X, following an overtime finishing with a score of 19 to 17 resulting in their continuation to the next round of the playoffs. Team SPLY joined the other seven teams that progressed to this stage. In the next round of the playoffs, teams competed in a best of three matches. Team SPLY beat EVILNINE 2-1 in their best of three matches in Round two, sending them to round three. In round three they faced DeStRoYeRs_ and beat them soundly 2-0 sending them to the semi-finals. Although Team SPLY lost against OnlineBOTS in the semifinals, they redeemed themselves in the lower bracket against EVILNINE beating them 2-0 in a best of three matches. SPLY won the first map in the best of three with a score of 16 to 3. The second map they played went into over time defeating EVILNINE with the official score of 22 to 18 on the second map. Their victory carried them along to a rematch in the finals against OnlineBOTS which contained the likes of sperr, who plays for WASD Sports, HS who formerly played for Optic Gaming, and FejtZ who plays for Hellraisers. Following a drawn-out match, they placed second in the overall tournament.
